Ellie Buhland · Dance major · Studying exercise science

I got into training when I was in high school. I got injured in dance, I had to do physical therapy, and I was assigned a bunch of exercises to do. When that happened I realized that I didn't want to do physical therapy, but more preventative exercise programs and exercise in general. That's really where it all started.Ellie Buhland

I love dance very much. It is my major, and I am studying exercise science alongside it. Dance taught me what it feels like when a body moves well, and what it costs when it does not.

Dance is also how I coach. A dancer learns a phrase slowly, count by count, until it lives in the body, and only then performs it full out. I teach a squat or a hinge the same way: the shape first, then the strength. You can't really grow unless you have correct form.

Differently than a lot of trainers, I like to focus on the science behind the muscles, and on corrective exercise. I want you to understand why each movement is in your program, so you can trust it and keep doing it long after we finish.

I train women of every starting point: total beginners, athletes, and anyone coming back from an injury. If that sounds like you, read about how sessions work.
